Nicole Kouts multidisciplinary work investigates the image as a transport medium of ancient beliefs to contemporary technologies. In the spaces occupied by the digital and the analogue there are mutations of time and memory. The luminous screens operates as portals to the fiction of the divine, the self and the infinity. While obsolete media are the reverse face of forgotten identities and myths. The interest in the genealogy of images and the archaeology of media comes from an autobiographical experience, as latin american, granddaughter of immigrants, raised between the brazillian, the greek and the Internet culture.

She started blogging her drawings as a teenager, participating on comics and zine collectives. After that, has illustrated books, album covers, theater and festival posters. Nowadays, her work as a visual artist has been exhibited in Brazil, around the world and online. She also works as costume and set designer, puppeteer and curator of experimental projects in digital spaces.
